The Wanderers Tigers have claimed back-to-back wins over the Eastern Hornbills, recording a 28 – 20 in Round 4 of the SGNRL Championship.

In a competitive, fast-paced fixture, the Tigers built momentum throughout the match, holding off a late Hornbills surge to secure the win.

The Hornbills opened the scoring early in the first half when Dan Baeck crossed the line, with Arthur Lagier adding the conversion to establish an early 6 – 0 lead. The Tigers responded quickly with back-to-back tries from Luca Mori and Alex Corrigall. Lucius Yau added the extras to Corrigall’s try to put the Tigers ahead 10 – 6. Shortly before the interval, Sylvain Hirsch crashed over to extend the Tigers’ advantage to 16 – 6 following another successful Yau conversion.

The Tigers carried their momentum into the second half, with Keith Lagrange crossing to widen the lead to 22 – 6 after Yau slotted his third conversion of the afternoon. The Hornbills mounted a swift response, as Adam Croft touched down to bring the scoreline to 22 – 10, before William Callum Finlay added the extras to narrow the deficit to ten points.

However, the Tigers re-established control late in the match when Alex Corrigall crossed for his second try of the game. Lucius Yau converted to stretch the Tigers’ lead to 28 – 12. A late Hornbills try was not enough to alter the outcome as the Tigers closed out the contest.
