A new era for Singaporean sport has arrived, with the Singapore Rugby League today announcing its inaugural Men’s National Team, set to compete in the Asian Championship in Manila, Philippines, from November 27–29, 2025.

The team, affectionately nicknamed the Memerang, which join the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong and hosts, Philippines, in the International Rugby League endorsed tournament, marking Singapore’s first international foray into the sport.

A Hybrid Squad with International Pedigree

The squad is an exciting mix of local Singapore-based players and Australian-based players. This hybrid model reflects the international nature of the game and the dedication of the Singapore Rugby League to harness the best talent available.

The team boasts several players with prior national representative experience in Rugby Union (15s and 7s), bringing a strong foundation of high-level competition, including the likes of Harresh Krishnan, Brannon Noble, Lucius Yau, Tom Chamberlain and the Postlethwaite brothers.

The future of the sport in Singapore is also bright, highlighted by the inclusion of rising talent Tylan Berryman, who currently plays Jersey Flegg (U21) for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and former Rabbitohs junior Jake Tobin.

Investment in the Future
In line with the long-term vision for the sport, the final squad includes three dedicated development players. This initiative is a strategic effort to expose younger players to the intense, elite environment of an international tournament, laying the groundwork for a sustained and successful national program for future championships.

Fynn Postlethwaite, younger brother of Liam and Connor features in the development list.
